Delicious Lala at Meng Kee Restaurant, Old Klang Road, Malaysia

A simple dinner of delicious food along Old Klang Road? Try this roadside stall (restaurant) along Old Klang Road. In fact, there are many eateries all along Old Klang Road from high end to low, unique and authentic too in some cases. But today I will introduce this Meng Kee restaurant, which is mostly full with locals be it lunch or dinner. It is located just opposite Scott Garden.

Steam Lala - RM16

To me this is the best Steam Lala dish I have ever eaten. First it's the lala itself which has big and soft  meat. The gravy is just heavenly with just the right combination of ginger, soy sauce and sweetness. Normally when we eat lala dishes, we have to look for lala with meat inside as most of the time we see just empty shells on the plate and the meat is somewhere underneath hidden in the gravy. Here, you do not have to search for a full luscious lala as there is not a single lala without meat inside. a definitely must try for lala lovers!

Steam Fish - RM28

The other popular dish here is the Steam fish. This is their signature steam fish with chopped ginger. The sauce or gravy here is also entirely different from others with lots of chopped garlic.

Yau Mak with garlic

Garlic is good for health, so most of the vegetables I ordered are 'Ching Chau' meaning just plain fry with garlic.

The above three dishes is enough for 3 people and the total cost comes to RM62 with a pot of Chinese tea and 3 bowls of rice. Of course there are other dishes but this just what I would normally order in this restaurant for a simple dinner. There are less people at lunch time and they open until about 3pm.
