Donutes Malaysia Latest Lava Salted Egg Cheese Tart

I passed by Donutes Coffee & Cakes Baking Restaurant in Puchong very often and was attracted by the big brightly lit sign board. But I have never stepped inside before, thinking that it must be very expensive as it looks so classy with imposing sign board. "There are nice, good, healthy buns, cakes, mousse and it's open 24 hours" my friend told me. Ok, I will find soon, I thought to myself. Well, It happened sooner than I expected. Thanks to Donutes Coffee & Cakes Baking Restaurant for inviting me to review their latest menu, Lava Salted Egg Cheese Tart.

This first Lava Salted Egg Cheese Tart in Malaysia will be launch on 6 May. Sold at RM6.90 per piece, there will be an offer of buy one box (6pieces) free one box on the day of launch starting from 10am at Puchong branch. This offer will be first come first serve while stock last.

The review started in the kitchen at the Puchong branch, Donutes Malaysia. There are rows of ready made Lava Salted egg Cheese tart on the tray on the table

They were then put into the oven

Voila, everyone felt hungry at the fragrance of the newly baked cheese tart that came out of the oven.

Lava Salted Egg Cheese Tart consist of two layers inside. The lower layer is orangy yellow mushy salted egg and upper layer is white cream cheese.

When cut, the salted egg cream will flow out like lava flowing out from the volcano.

With a bite, I enjoy the crispy crust on the outside and the combination of soft creamy lava of salted egg and cream cheese. But, I was surprised to taste a bit of sourness in the lava cream. Upon enquiring, I was told that lemon was added in to balance up the taste and make it refreshing.

A piece of cut lava salted egg cheese tart after being in the refrigerator overnight

Lava Salted Egg Cheese Tart can be stored in the refrigerator overnight. In fact, personally I like the it this way better, eating it cold and with the lava just thick enough to hold it's shape.

Donutes started in Taiwan 27 years ago in year 1989. At present, there are 60 Donutes outlets across Taiwan, Malaysia and China. Donutes operate 24 hours per day and 365 days a year.

Danish Polo bun is the number one best seller

Danish Polo Bun - RM4.20 each

Danish Polo Bun as the top seller, has sold 1 million buns in 365 days.

Polo bun outside with a slightly sweet crust and inside white soft texture but not sweet at all. I feel that this Danish Polo bun is suitable for people who don't like sweet buns.

Taiwan Rosong - RM6.90 each

This is the number two best seller. It is yellow colored fine textured big piece of of bread. Plain soft butter fragrance, top lightly sugared but overall not sweet also.

Golden Liu Sha Mini Croissant - RM2.90 a each

This is my favourite! This mini croissants are of the correct bite size for ladies. The inside consist of soft creamy salty egg cream that flows out when cut.

 Donutes Banana - RM3.90

There are many other types of cakes and buns sold. This latest bun called Donutes banana, bread with soft pulpy banana mash inside just like the famous Tokyo banana. For people who loves Tokyo banana, this can be your fix.

Matcha Angel - RM4.50

Hmm.. I can't resist this one Matcha Angel, it has a combination of green tea and red beans, both being my favourite. Angel chiffon cake, soft and fluffy with s low level of sweetness and dotted with thoroughly cooked soft red bean. This combination works very well for me!

Garden Salad - RM7.90

Well, if you want to have some greens to accompany all the buns and cakes you have eaten, then just grab this Garden Salad which is made up of lettuce, sliced carrot, mashed potato, boiled egg, cucumber and corn.

These are some of the adorable cakes which I can't take my eyes off
