Piggy Tail at Bangsar, KL

Crispy skin on the outside and succulent moist meat on the inside. What more can you ask for in this comfort yet sinful food? "Ooh, don't care lah, it's too delicious to forgo! You ladies just forget about the calories today, ok?" Said the guy said who sat next to me when he heard murmurings of sinful, calories, diet, fat from the ladies. Very true, as sometimes it's the person who complains the most in the end eats the most, hehe.

Opened about just a year over, Piggy Tail has already made a name among non halal diners in Klang Valley. With the brand mission of "Simple comfort dishes for best enjoyment" Piggy Tail serves "Sakura Pork", where the pigs are raised using traditional, conventional methods. This type of pork is popular in USA, Canada, where there are many people who love eating healthy and good pork. At Piggy Tail  there are also a wide range of  other than non-piggy dishes such as chicken, lamb, fish, duck, pastas, burgers, rice, seafood and side dishes. Of all this, my favourite is Watermelon Salad with Premium Pork and Korean fried chicken and of course the signature Pork Knuckle too.

New Piggy Tail Mega Platter - RM288

This plate not only satiate your hunger pangs but also a feast to eyes. There is this huge tall burger in one corner that's almost falling off the plate and the big crispy pork knuckle balancing at the other corner. The middle is filled with BBQ Ribs, homemade pork sausages, pork chop, lamb chop, homemade coleslaw, homemade mash potato and potato chips. Suitable for a  family or a group of friends of 5- 6 pax. If you don't have such a big group of people, just order the The Signature Pork Knuckle to enjoy the crunchy crackling skin and juicy, tender meat. The pork knuckle is big with lots of meat attached, served with supreme gravy sauce, mash potato, coleslaw and salad is RM89.00. I highly recommend having this signature piggy pork knuckle here as it is one of the best that I have tasted so far. The skin is cooked to perfection such that it felt so heavenly hearing the crackling sound when my teeth sinks into it.

WaterMelon Salad - RM24

This is my most favourite dish and a must try if you go to Piggy Tail. A plate of salad that comes with lovely red and green color. I taste a thinge of sweetness which that is so natural as it comes from the water melon.

Signature Pork Corn - RM17

This is Piggy Tail's best selling snack. It is chunks of sakura pork deep fried till crispy, just like popcorn. It goes well with a jug of cold beer.

Creamy Roasted Pumpkin Soup - RM20

Seafood Tomato Soup - RM25

The soups here are good. I love eating pumpkins and this Creamy roasted pumpkin soup does not disappoint me. As the name says, it is creamy but thick with roasted pumpkin paste. Just how I like it! The Seafood soup is equally good with pan fried mixed seafood cooked with homemade tomato soup.

Korean Cheesy Ribs - RM68

Grilled fresh Sakura Baby Back Ribs marinated with home made Korean spicy sauce. Served with mixture of 3 different kind of cheeses on the Hot plate. Top with spring onions and corn. To eat just dip and roll the meat into the cheese. Being a person who likes soft meat, I find the meat is on the tough side.

Vegetarian Spaghetti - RM23

Perfect for non-meaty person, this dish is made up of diced eggplant, mushroom, cucumber and tomato cooked with home made special tomato sauce. As a person who do not really fancy spaghetti this dish tastes just ok for me.

Signature Lamb Chop - RM46

Grilled marinated NZ lamb chop with homemade mongolian sauce and served with mash potato and coleslaw.

Thai Minced Pork Rice - RM22

This is suitable for people we call "fun-tung": that is a person who just must have rice for every meal. Stir fried Thai style minced sakura pork with chilli, fish sauce, soy sauce and sweet basil, it is delicious in its own way. I also secretly welcome this dish after having so much piggylicious dishes.

Korean Beer Fried Chicken - RM49

As the saying goes, 'Don't judge a book by it's cover', because with one look, I thought "ah, this must be like just another KFC fried chicken". But in the end this Korean Beer fried chicken won me over with the fantastic crunchy crispy skin and moist juicy meat inside. It is the best crispy skin fried chicken that I have tasted. I can't help heaping praises and complimented the boss. He replied that they have finally perfected this dish after listening to earlier diners' comments ^-^  That's the right, feedback and interaction with our clients are the most important factor for food and service sector.

Piggy Tail is well decorated with wooden theme walls and bottles of beers and liquors. But as an old fashioned an conservative person, I find that it is a bit dark and the music is loud.

This neighbourhood oink oink has a complete menu from breakfast to dinner and a wide range of wine, beer, cocktails, shooters and liquors.

Conclusion. my three highly recommended dishes are Signature Piggy Pork Knuckle, Watermelon Salad and Korean Beer Fried chicken. Events, gatherings, full moon and birthday parties can be held at Piggy Tail. A must visit for porky piggy lovers and drinkers.
